In February, the Schoemans team came together for an exciting day of team building at Eagles Beer Garden. The venue was surrounded by the scenic views of Avis Dam. The event was hosted by Teambuild Namibia. This event brought together staff from all branches, including Oshakati and Walvis Bay. As a result, it created a unique opportunity to connect, compete, and celebrate teamwork in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
Teams
The staff were divided into teams, each with their own spirited animal name such as Chickens, Zebras, and Cheetahs. This helped foster friendly competition throughout the day. The teambuild kicked off with icebreaker activities. As a result, team members had a chance to get to know each other better and set the stage for collaboration and teamwork.
Games
The day was filled with a variety of physical and mental challenges, including:
- Tug of War – testing strength and teamwork.
- Egg Toss – combining coordination and focus.
- Minute to Win It – fast-paced games requiring creativity and strategy.
- Sack Race – bringing out laughter and agility.
- Slip ‘n Slide Dogdeball – adding a fun, wet twist to classic baseball.
- Spaghetti Tower – a challenge of ingenuity and problem-solving.
- Balloon Fight – encouraging teamwork, agility, and lots of laughter.
The lessons learned and bonds formed during the day are sure to carry over into the workplace. Consequently, this will strengthen collaboration, communication, and camaraderie across all Schoemans branches.
